the line in allmusic in their bio said 'One part glam rock and one part death metal' and the fact that its 4 hot canadian chicks playing made me currious about the band. The shows not until may, so i was wondering your thoughts on the band, and if its worth the 18 bucks for the show.
the opening acts are The Agony Scene - On Broken Wings - Byzantine

I happen to LOOVE Kittie and I've been a fan since their 1st cd. However, many people hate them and think they suck. I disagree. I also think a good part of that hatred has A LOT to do with the fact that it's an ALL GIRL band doing some very heavy metal and some guys out there just can't get over this. When they first came out they were VERY YOUNG and as time went by their playing and music has improved. They've leaned more towards very Heavy Metal and they're now less "pop" then when their 1st cd hit. In fact, the last Kittie cd I bought,"ORACLE", sounded a lot like Sepultura or Slayer but with a chick screaming/growling/singing leads. BTW, they just released an EP after a 2 year break.

...and oh, I've never seen them live but I see they're comging to So Cal in April so who knows.

Byzantine is the only band on that bill worth seeing IMO. Kittie really fits in more with the nu-metal than death metal. On Broken Wings are all around assholes (they destroyed a venue around here, and are constantly getting into fights with people at their shows). Agony Scene is eh.

Listen to the bands though and see if you like them.

I've seen them once or twice. The first time I saw them, I was chilling by the bar getting a drink when I heard them go on. I was suprised at the sound they put out. It wasn't great, but still fun to watch. The crowd really got into them as well.

Unfortunately, I only saw one song before I got kicked out.

Yeah they've had some serious personnel changes over the years. In fact, the RUMOR was that one of the original Girls...the one who looks like a Latina on the cover of SPIT, became seriously obessed with the Columbine shootings or some other crazy ass event like that. What a strange rumor.

From what I can tell in that pic...

The center blonde(guitar/vox) and the girl with her arms up(drums) are the OG's

The Asian is a new bassist and the girl to the far right is new guitar
