Possibly my favorite Sparks song. The updated version on Plagiarism is awesome.

Re: Sparks appreciation thread

Anyone pick up FFS (Franz Ferdinand/Sparks)? Really good stuff.

Heard most of their live concert online yesterday (there was video too, but had other stuff to do so couldn't really watch.) Will have to buy the album ASAP. The song "Piss Off" could be used as my theme song

How had I not replied to this thread before? I LOVE Sparks! One of the all time great bands, the most delightful purveyors of twisted art pop.

I might be in the minority here but I love No. 1 In Heaven. There's something about the mix of Sparks and Giorgio that's absolutely perfect to me.

Re: Sparks appreciation thread

The FFS album is fantastic. It really is almost impossible to tell which parts are Sparks-inspired, and which parts are Franz Ferdinand; the two bands mesh so well.

Re: Sparks appreciation thread

I picked up Kimono My House a couple of years ago and wasn't as blown away by it considering the reviews. I ended up liking Propaganda a lot more. I'll probably get A Woofer in a Tweeter's Clothing and that's about it. My Sparks collection is:

Kimono My House
Indiscreet
Propaganda
Whomp That Sucker!
Angst in my Pants

I've heard (from Trouser Press Record Guide) that some of there other records aren't as good.

Re: Sparks appreciation thread

color me clueless - but I love 'Tryouts for the Human Race' which is played in one scene from the new movie "The Overnight"

there are three FFS concerts up on youtube to watch - Glasto Fest 2015, June 26th Paris show, and a June 16th Glasgow show.

Re: Sparks appreciation thread

Saw this for the second time yesterday. This time in the theater. What a great documentary. There’s enough information for people unfamiliar with the band and it reveals so much to people that have been fans for years.
