Music with didgeridoos?

I recently picked up a didgeridoo and have been learning to play it. Working on that circular breathing thing so I can play longer than one breath. :)

I picked up these CDs for some inspiration:
Didgeridoo Dreaming: Gold Collection

Didgeridoo by Dreamtime

Anyone have any other suggestions for music with didgeridoos? Anyone play one?

I believe Ayreon's Human Equation has some as well.

I'll have to check these out. Keep 'em coming.

No music suggestions, but I know you can use your didgeridoo as a self defense weapon when checking on suspicious things in your yard/shed late at night.

Couldn't find the dave's wiring/shed thread, can someone please help?

BigDave 02-07-06 04:13 PM

The way I play, it could scare away most unknown creatures.

Midnight Oil have it sprinkled around their catalogue "Helps Me Helps You" "Beds are Burning" "The Dead Heart" etc.

Also Kate Bush on "The Dreaming".

There was some Scottish Folk Group on Craig Ferguson's show that strangely enough had a didgeridoo in it and it worked. He had them on to pay tribute to his late Father. :(

I think "Theme For Silence" on Coroner's album Grin features a didgeridoo.

Nah, I found it while looking for the kvrdave cartoon... But heck, it we can't have a new digeridoo thread every two years or so, then the terrorists have won.

Falcon, do you have the link to the thread that the picture is from? I asked a few posts back, but couldn't find it searching, I think Big Dave needs to see it to get a good laugh.

Try Halcyon Days (http://steveroach.com/Features/Halcyon/HalcyonDays.html) by spacemusic composer Steve Roach with Stephen Kent and Kenneth Newby of Trance Mission. Great tribal-ambient stuff!

Steve also has a few other releases that feature the didgeridoo. Check out his online store at http://steveroach.com/store/store.ph...idoo&details=y

Is it a coincidence that two "Dave"s have a digeridoo/didgeridoo fetish?

BigDave 02-09-06 09:54 AM

Y2K, oh how I wish I hadn't missed that thread. Classic!

I'm listening to Xavier Rudd right now. Great stuff. Sweet guitar work with some didge mixed in.

Here's my didgeridoo:

Eventually I plan on getting a higher quality didge that can do some really nice vocals on it. :D

Rolf Harris' cover of Stairway To Heaven.

So, does this thread mean that the XBox 360 isn't as fun as you thought it would be?

I was streaming didge music last night to my 360. It's a wonderful little device. :)

Turd Ferguson 02-09-06 03:07 PM

I'm happy you're enjoying it, but I'm glad you're not my neighbor.

My home theater is louder than my playing. Now if I went outside and played, I might piss some people off. That or make the dogs and cats howl. ;)

If you are going to play, I've heard it's best to play in your Man Room.
