There already is one. If I remember the previous thread correctly, you have to go to Amazon Canada to get it. It's a legit release, complete with 5.1, and anamorphic.

I've read that this has been delayed or even cancelled. Amazon still has it up, but they still have the wrong track listing too.. :shrug:

Glad to see "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" on there. It's my favorite Prince song. It would really be an "ultimate" album if "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" and "When U Were Mine" were on there.

Interesting to see the slight changes in tracklist - makes more sense to put all the 12" mixes on a separate disc I suppose.

I'd be disappointed in the removal of 'Erotic City' except it made room for the 12" mix of 'Let's Work' - considering I have the 'Erotic City' CD single but haven't been able to track down the 'Let's Work' 12", that'll be a nice hole filled.

Still, calling this thing the Ultimate Prince is a bit of a misnomer, but it's a solid collection and I can't wait to pick my copy up come Tuesday. If it hasn't been delayed/cancelled, that is.

Also, a supposed Rhino rep stated that Prince asked Rhino to remove "Erotic City".

Why would he want Erotic City off the album? It's not like there isn't dirty content in some of the other songs.

Not sure I like the changes in the tracklisting. Losing the 12" Erotic City for whatever reason is a big minus. Plus you lose another non-album track (Purple Medley) in the process. I know most would consider that a good thing, but I actually like that mix. Yeah, I have it already but the same I could say for almost everything else on here. Let's Work remix is nice, though, and Delirious's addition makes sense since it was a decent hit.

They should've just went with two discs of remixes, though. Plus maybe some b-sides that didn't make "The Hits/The B-Sides". Love or Money (but which speed?), Horny Pony, Violet the Organ Grinder, Sex, etc.

As I mentioned before, it's been delayed.

I searched around town and no one has it. Two Targets, Two Circuit Cities and a Best Buy. All either didn't get it, have it on order or just plain don't know.

I'm still upset they didn't put the Alphabet Street (This is Not Music, This is a Trip) mix on the set!

Our explanation at Best Buy was that it was delayed for 'Legal Reasons'.

went to Best Buy=no: Dude there said that it was the only CD that they didn't receive today. I mentioned the posssible delay/cancellation by Prince:), he was like i hope not we have the signs w/ prices and such already printed... then Circuit City= no... finally Target= no: ask the Target cashier, he said "Someone made a mistake, it comes out next week".. Either it comes out next week with the new album or he thought I was asking about the new album.

3121 drops next week. There've been reports that Ultimate will be out the following week on the 28th. Others have been told in October.

I'm thinking about trekking over to Target to at least get a rain check for whenever the hell it comes out. It's not like I don't have every single thing on this POS already, but it'd be nice to hear a "mastered" She's Always In My Hair and Pop Life.

Prince played at the Rock Hall induction with Tom Petty, and wow....it was friggin unreal. I forgot how good that guy is...

Work at a radio station and was holding it today. I copied the 2nd disc (cause I couldn't care about the first) and they were instructed to send it back to the record company so....yeah....it's being delayed for quite some time. Apparently Prince was pissed about something...at least that's what we were told.

I expect them to be on ebay for a LOT of money.

I'm listening to my copy right now. If you are in Toronto, or can get there soon, go to the HMV at 333 Yonge in the southern entrance (where the CD's are, not the DVD's), they have a few copies of Ultimate Prince for $29.99. They're imported from Australia. Go get it!!! It's fun.

Like I said, bought mine yesterday, and I think there were at least 3 when I left at around 5 PM yesterday. I think HMV's closed for Easter Sunday today, but may not be, because it's near the tourist area, but definitely open tomorrow.

Let me know if you get one, and we can all laugh together.

Looks like the D&P DVD will be $12.99 at BB & CC (if it's released). But my LD sourced DVD will hold me off until DDD.com's $9.98 disc gets here..
