Paging auto: MusicDraft II
 

What do you say, auto? Why don't we start a second draft? You set the rules and everything, but...

- We won't be repeating albums right? Or can we hold on to one pick from the last time? If so, I'd recommend making it from picks 7-10 so that there's no obivous "big album" picks.
- Can we repeat artists?
- We still doing box sets?

Because we're now going into more unknown stuff, it might be wise to expand the number of picks. More than 10, no more than 20. Say, 15. First five rounds, one pick. Next five rounds, two picks. One at noon, then your 2nd pick can come no earlier than an hour after your last pick. Help move it along a bit more, maybe?

I'd also like to say that there should be no "double-album" picks. That is, albums that were originally (back in the day) sold as distinct LPs now packaged for the sake of convenience into one CD. (Big Star and Graham Parsons come to mind). Or, if you pick that, it should be a "box set".

I just started a new job and there is no way I can put the time in to running another draft. This job actually wants me to do work during the day. :confused:

I think you would do a helluva job as a game moderator though. :D

why not do something different, like a "song" draft?

Despite my apparently continual posting during the day, I can't guarantee that I'd have time to properly police it any one day. Plus you should do it since you stole Rank Them from me. ;) :D

Seriously, though. I could only do it if we could start the game in the evenings. Something like 8:00 pm EST. I'm not sure how it would work out but I'd be happy to moderate. It's a pain in the ass but I actually enjoy doing it.

I like this idea. Doing another draft but eliminating albums picked in the first draft is a sure way to confuse the hell out of new players.

I think a draft where you can only pick albums that sold under 500,000 copies would be awesome. Or a draft that involved nothing but mixed bag drafts to get a variety like:

4: Best One Hit Wonder Album
5: Best Cover Song
6: Best Independent Label
7: Best Music DVD
8: Best Bootleg
9: Best Foreign Language Release

12: Best Album to Fall Asleep to
13: Best Album to have Sex to
14: Best Live Album
15: Best Album you can find in a Bargain Bin
