Who else should Rick Rubin work with?
 

After benefiting from Rubin's efforts with Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond I was thinking about who else could use his magic touch.

Someone else alreday got to McCartney and I think Rod Stewart should get his act together and quit selling Frank Sinatra songs to old ladies.

Who would you like to see Rubin take back to their roots?

well, Danzig has been crap without him, but I think that's a lost cause. there are a bunch of Scandavian metal bands that I'd like to see him work with (Dimmu Borgir, At The Gates----assuming they reform as expected, Opeth). Also, Kool Keith.

I'm gonna have to go with Trixter.

If Rick could channel the Trixer of old-back in their heyday (1968-1977) they were a force to be reckoned with , we could all die happy.

If he hadn't retired from recording, I'd say a Billy Joel/Rick Rubin collaboration would be very interesting.

Just based on "99 Problems," he REALLY needs to get back into hip-hop production. That was an excellent beat and my favorite Jay-Z song (admittedly, I'm not much of a fan).

As for who, a Kool Keith (mentioned above) collaboration would be very interesting.

there was talk about it, but I also just read (looking for the link) that the Jonas Björler (the guitarist) said it's just a rumor.

Adrian Erlandsson (the drummer) mentioned a reunion at the pearl drums forum, but that's all I've heard. He said they'd do so "when the time was right" so who knows what that means. If it means $$$$, I'm sure they'd put aside personal differences.

Given that Gen-X and Y are mainly aware of Neil Diamond (even fans of, though likely not without irony) thanks to Will Ferrell, I'd say it's only right that Rick Rubin help with a career revitalization for Robert Goulet. :)
