* _____the Cure_____ *

Hi,

I hope im not going off-topic here.... But are there any CURE fans here?

Im desperately looking for CURE LDs.... Help me out. I remembered watching a particular concert with TWIN TURBINES OR FANS BLOWING IN THE BACKGROUND; anyone knows which one is that?

Well, I sure was in 1985...

The only thing that came out of the 80s that wasn't as embarrassing as shoulder pads.

I still make fun of my cousin who complained when I played Cure at her birthday party. She said she didn't like "heavy metal"...

Yep.*

*to the fan part, not the concert part

Every time I see this thread I keep thinking the original poster was self censoring his thread title. I keep filling in the blanks and reading it as something like "F*** the Cure, ***holes!"

Anyway, sorry don't know the concert you're asking about. I like them but I'm no where near a completest of them.

Haha *________ You* :D

Love the Cure. Bloodflowers was one of the best ablums in the past five years or however long it has been.

If it was not a bootleg and not from the last 5 years, it was In Orange.

It could have also been Concert (I am not sure if that is the name, but it was a Japanese video), or show, or perhaps Play (possibly not the title, but had a number of concert clips)

1989's Disintigration is my favorite album. I just bought their latest self-titled CD/DVD package. I have yet to check it out.

That sounds very much like part of stage props used for "Show", the live VHS and CD that followed the release of "Wish". Probably my favorite CD from that line-up of the band. Once Porl Thompson left, the material didn't sound quite as focused.

BTW - Will us Cure fans ever see DVD releases for "Standing on a Beach", "In Orange", "Show", "Picture Show", and "Play Out"?

Regarding the Standing on a Beach VHS, what do you think of 2001's Greatest Hits DVD? Does it cover Standing on a Beach well enough?

Play out; that was the name. Thank you. I think that everything on Picture show (except for the inbetween video stuff) was on Galore. It seems hard to tell if we will see that stuff on DVD. Isn't Elektra no longer a label?

dvduser6 11-07-05 12:34 PM

I don't think so. Perhaps as the Cure are slowly remastering their CDs and doing deluxe versions, my only hope is that they can tackle the eventual DVD releases during the course of this project. While "Greatest Hits' is okay, I would still love to have the original releases and all the in-between snippets. Of course, I'm certain that "Killing an Arab" will have a touch time making it through. If only the censors would read some Albert Camus...

I've been listening to The Cure since 1982. I've been to serveral concerts and even met the band in New Orleans during The Dream Tour. I have a lot of Cure stuff - both official and unofficial. So, yes - I've a fan.
