Music downloading

I read an article about the music industry and it's failed attempts to stop music downloaders. I have used Winmx in the past and tried to find it recently but found a site that said it was no longer around. Any other sites available for music downloading?

www.apple.com/itunes is a good one.

emusic.com is another good one. They do a subscription model but the tracks end up coming out cheaper than iTunes and there are no DMA restrictions on the tracks. They are actually the only outfit I've legally bought MP3's from and I'm still an active subscriber.

If the music industry would make more stuff available to them I would pay for all of my music. Unfortunately they don't so what I can't find on emusic I have to get, um, elsewhere.

the winmx network was shutdown. i think i've heard that they is some kinda 'patch' out there to get it working again, but that's only what i've heard. soulseek is still up.
