Smoosh!

anybody fans in a non-pedophilic way?

<a href="http://www.smoosh.com/">Smoosh</a>

you can check 'em out on iTunes.

<a href="http://www.pattern25.com/bands/smoosh.shtml">here's a good description</a> for those unfamiliar.

it's simple music but it's damn catchy. their lyrics are scary (in terms of maturity) for two girls under the age of 14.

they were pretty adorable when i saw them open for sleater-kinney a couple years ago, and then again this last spring at the sasquatch festival. i can't, for the life of me, get the "uh-huh, uh-huh, yo, yo. guys" out of my head.

I saw them open for Rilo Kiley last year and they kicked ass. Simple songs rocked out.

The Shropshire brothers are great. It was cool of them to have that contest where you could win a trip to the moon.

i'm going to resurrect this thread because i think it died an unjustifiably quick death and also because they just popped up on iTunes again. i really dig their quick and quirky pop songs. i again think people who haven't heard them should give them a listen.

edited to add: check out the songs "Rad" and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs-like "Bottlenose"

I meet them a few years ago opening up for the United State of Electronica. Their dad seems like he is super-hip.
