Paris Hilton to release Debut Album, First Single : "Screwed"

Heiress Paris Hilton is fast at work at her debut album. And her first single is 'Screwed' (Yes peeps, this is official).

As for her single, Paris says "I know people will think it means something else, but it actually is about this girl who has fallen so deeply in love and is scared to let go, but in the end decides to give in to her feelings, because either way shes screwed". (Personally I dont know if her quote makes any sense, but Im guessing its not as deep as its made out to be).

First Single : "Screwed" out to radio August 16
Album : "Paris is Burning" out in stores September 2005

Pitchfork review Paris' Single

Paris Hilton: "Screwed"
genre: pop

It's difficult to consider Paris Hilton The Singer without at least acknowledging Paris Hilton The Personality. By now, even your great-grandparents know about her. They've heard about being raised in Alaska, living in a van, busking at Boston T-stops, her thing with Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, emancipating herself from her parents, the Mickey Mouse Club, the Paul Verhoeven casting couch, the Fred Durst thing (eww), and now this mini-tiff with the other Duff sister.

Duff Lite (aka Haylie) claims that she recorded her version of "Screwed" back in 2003, way before Paris got her hands on the track. Paris answered these claims by leaking her version to radio (and, subsequently, the web), claiming squatter's rights by the "you snooze, you lose" precedent established when Oog settled his "who banged log first?" spat with Urnk by leading his erstwhile rival into a tar pit. Speaking of tar pit, anyone see that episode of South Park? (Keywords: Butters bedroom finger...ewwwww)

Were I Haylie, I'd take the opportunity to send Paris a thank-you card, and work the phones for another track. See, Paris can pinch off a glue-and-glitter oompah-loompah disco track like this and let it fade into, like, whatever, without sweating a stitch-- she's got her purse design business, she's got the acting, she's got the modeling, and then there's always the family business. Haylie's got a Go-Gos cover, and her younger sister, with whom she recorded the Go-Gos cover. That's the first stop on the way to the same farm where false idols like Willa Ford and Michael Fredo run free. Also, when Haylie sings about a woman from hell stealing her boy, people are going to instantly think she's talking about Hilary. When Paris sings about a woman from hell, it's pretty clear she's looking at the not-a-girl in the mirror and asking her to stop stealing her lines. That is so darling. Gag me with a silver spoon

Has anyone ever met anyone in real life who actually spoke the words, "I like Paris Hilton" (and wasn't referring to her body)?

I know....

Has anyone noticed how supposedly witty the album title is? "Paris is Burning". I mean, whoever thought of that must think theyre really clever.

Correction: anyone with enough money can purchase a record contract or start their own label.

I wonder if her voice will be rail thin like her odd-looking body?

Regarding her voice, find out for yourself. Its the official version of her new single, and I must say its very, very generic. Like some 1980s Donna Summer thing. But there you go. Download away.

First of all, THANKS A LOT BUDDY...my ears are now bleeding.

Second of all. Never...ever, ever, ever compare her to Donna Summer. Donna can actually sing. If you want to compare this crap to anything, it sounds like Kylie Minogue.

They're finally releasing the single NOW?

I remember hearing the song months ago on Sirius and giggling over the fact that Paris Hilton sung a song called "Screwed."

If you want to compare this crap to anything, it sounds like Kylie Minogue.
What the fuck is wrong with Kylie Minogue?!?! At least she has talent and beauty which Paris Hilton is severely lacking in both.

Seriously, this song sounds like the shit that the late '90s provided with. I could see this song being played in a block on the radio consisting of Cher's "Believe," ATC's "Around the World," and B*Witched's "Cest La Vie."

LOL

B*Witched

OK, so my question is, is someone else actually singing? Or did they layer her voice 32 times?

This is one of the WORST songs I have heard in recent memory.

New thread:

"How do you stop your ears from bleeding?"

There is no conceivable limit to the size of the ass which that song invariably sucks.

Yeah, Donna Summer has a great voice.

I read a while back that Paris was booed when she sang on stage at a few bars.

i hate to say this, but I predict it becomes a moderate hit which means more Paris coverage for better or worse

obviously the vocals are horrible as they have done some crazy modification to them with beats and strange modulation(sp) over them. the beat is not that bad. it probably is pretty good to dance to
