Billy Corgan storms off stage after Smashing Pumpkin song requests

CORGAN STORMS OFF STAGE

American rocker Billy Corgan abandoned a solo concert in Melbourne,
Australia last night after fans repeatedly asked him to play songs by his
former band Smashing Pumpkins.
Despite placing an ad in the Chicago Tribune expressing his intent to reform
the Smashing Pumpkins last month, Corgan became increasingly angered by
continued catcalls from the audience.

According to reports in Melbourne newspapers, one fan heckled, "Play some
Pumpkins," to which Corgan replied, "Can I live my life for today?"

Later in the performance, another audience member shouted "We want rock,"
prompting Corgan to suggest he ask for his money back.

The final straw came towards the end of the show when another fan requested
Pumpkins material. Corgan declared "[Bleep] this" and stormed off stage,
ignoring calls to return.

Why did you waste your time telling us that? Those people aren't discussing it...They only posted a link to a news story, but they didn't mention what it was about. It wouldn't have even shown up in a search. Besides, this deserves it's own thread.

Um, okay. Make sure you start a new thread every time Corgan sneezes.

BILLY CORGAN SNEEZES

American rocker Billy Corgan recently sneezed on stage at
a concert in Sydney Australia. During a song from his new
album the Future Embrace, Corgan was over come by a
sneeze attack that caused him to storm offstage, refusing
to return.

Audience members were irate saying he hadn't sneezed like
that when he was with Smashing Pumpkins. Corgan was
not available for comment, though he was seen sneezing
as his limo left the venue.

Your attempt at humor/wit has failed miserably.

I was slightly amused, so perhaps it only failed, just not miserably.

Homer: I'll miss you, Pumpkins, but I just can't share your bleak world view. I've got too much to live for.
Corgan: We envy you, Homer. All we have is our music, our legions of fans, our million of dollars and our youth. [pause] Woo-Hoo!
Iha: Let's all go out and buy fur coats!
Chamberlin: I want a walk-in humidor.

I thought it was funny. I was just sad that you didn't start a new thread for this story.

Billy's just mad b/c no one wants to hear his new crappy material. I'm a huge SP and Zwan fan, but his solo album is TERRIBLE!

He needs to go back to what he was good at.

I saw Smashing Pumpkins in 1994. Corgan stormed off the stage after 40 minutes because he didn't like the frat boys moshing. I think storming off stages is his "thing."
