Michael Dahlquist, drummer for Chicago-based Silkworm, was killed in a car crash Thursday afternoon. The crash was an apparent suicide attempt by the driver of a second vehicle.

Yes, they relocated to Chicago a few years ago from the northwest.

I heard about this on the news last night, but it wasn't until just a few minutes ago I heard that it was the guy from Silkworm. He was a really fantastic drummer from what I remember seeing Silkworm way back when I was a teenager, and also a really nice guy. My brother would talk to him at various shows around Chicago all the time after running into each other.

Not exactly what you picture when you hear "Suicidal 23 year old female."

The only "positive" thing out of this whole ordeal is that the girl walked away with hardly a scratch, but ended up ALIVE against her will, and facing a triple homicide charge. I hope she gets commited to a prison/mental hospital where she CAN'T kill herself and lives a miserable life for the next 20+ years.
