Josh Joplin: Jaywalker due 8/23/05

Hey, everyone. Check out Josh Joplin's website for info on his upcoming album. The site is under construction, but there are a couple of links to sites he's affiliated with.

I used to listen to him in college, and I can't recommend his music enough. If you like the song on the Saturday Team website I'd encourage you to look into more of his stuff. I can't express how much I enjoy his music, and I can only hope that some of you will, too.

I was just listening to Useful Music and the Future That Was the other day and wondering what happened to Josh Joplin. The song on the Saturday Team website was really good.

I was disappointed to see him refer to Useful Music and the Future That Was as "crappy records with big producers." I love both of those albums and don't really think that "Jaywalker" sounded any more raw than either of his "big" releases.

Which Useful Music were you listening to? THe release with Camera One or the original? You should check out the original one if you can. I agree, though, The Future that Was wasn't bad at all.

The album is really good. A bit more stripped down than Useful Music or The Future That Was...but not too much more. His songwriting is as good as ever.

Useful Music and The Future that Was were both stepped up and over-produced compared to the three albums before them (Projector Head, Boxing Nostalgic, and the original Useful Music, sans Camera One, which was actually a much better album...much more, uh, folksy I guess).

I like this new one. I hope he continues to make music and tour and enjoy what he's doing. The guy's really great. Catch a show if you can.
