How are the Alkaline Trio live?
 

They are playing Dallas tonight, and am wondering how they are as a live band. I love the records, but am torn whether I want to spend an evening devoted to sweaty kids. So, anyone seen them?

curious as well. they are playing across the street from my house next week and wondering if i should cough up the 20 bucks to see em

Definately check them out, I've seen them live twice, and of course the crowd is really into it. With the last couple albums they added a second guitarist which I dislike, since they are a "Trio" but what can ya do. Their setlist has a lot of oldies to it as well, though sometimes their playing gets sloppy it's always good times.

20 bucks? Ouch. I haven't seen them since they played at a friend's house in 1998, but they were decent then. It cost free dollars.

whynotsmile - the dallas show sold out, so if you are planning on going, get a ticket. I was undecided until the last minute, drove down to the club and could not get in. Pretty bummed about it actually...because the closer I got to the club the more excited I was getting.

Saw them at Roseland Ballroom - fucking absolutely amazing. They were touring for Good Mourning, yet played stuff from Maybe I'll Catch Fire. Loved every second of it.
