wenders, I've never heard any Walker Brothers, but I have the first four Scott Walker CDs in the mail on their way here. Is the 'band' stuff very different from his solo material?

You can never go wrong with Nick Drake. Also check out the solo records by Colin Blunstone.

Gotta also second the recommendation for Scott Walker and the Walker Bros stuff.
