Interpol and New Order but no Joy Division? Unknown Pleasures is terrific and (not that it matters but) has the best album cover ever.

I was thinking the exact same thing while reading the first page!

Also, this whole discussion about obscurity made me want to mention two obscure albums I like a lot: Cymande's self-titled album and Phantom Buffalo's debut "Shishimumu".

BTW, do you consider Serge Gainsbourg's "Histoire de Melody Nelson" obscure? I guess it's not that well known, sadly. A terrific album.

OK just wanted to bring back this thread, since a lot of people wanted to list their favorite albums in the Music Draft, but did not get a chance to, since obviously, a lot of those albums were picked by someone else already.

10? Only 10? I'm sure I'm not the only one here with a huge collection, but to try and pick just 10 from thousands - that's a bit difficult.

Well, I'll just have to wing it, even though this list would be sure to change on an hourly basis. Here's some off the top of my head, and in no particular order...

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Cheap Trick - Cheap Trick ('77)
The Beatles - Abbey Road
U2 - The Joshua Tree
Radiohead - The Bends
KISS - Destroyer (also, the first album I ever bought)
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
INXS - Kick
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Flickerstick - Welcoming Home The Astronauts
Superdrag - Headtrip In Every Key
R.E.M. - Out Of Time
The Posies - Dear 23
Van Halen - Women & Children First
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
The Replacements - Don't Tell A Soul
Jellyfish - Bellybutton
Jimi Hendrix - Axis Bold As Love
Nada Surf - Let Go
Athenaeum - Radiance

I know there's a ton more I'm forgetting about, too.

Nirvana - In Utero
Verbena - La Musica Negra
Afghan Whigs - 1965
