Tracklisting: 1: Your Time Has Come 2: Out Of Exile 3: Be Yourself 4: Doesn't Remind Me 5: Drown Me Slowly 6: Heavens Dead 7: The Worm 8: Man Or Animal 9: Yesterday To Tomorrow 10: Dandelion 11: #1 Zero 12: The Curse The first single was 'Be Yourself'. The upcoming second single will be 'Your Time As Come'. Not much hype considering this is out in three weeks. Anyone hear this yet? |
Be Yourself has been my favorite song for the past few weeks. Besides just being an awesome song, the lyrics definately helped me think differently while I was going through some crap in life.
I don't like the second single as much though... is that in depth enough for you :p EDIT: The second song I was talking about is Give and it's pretty good too, but the new single, Your Time Has Come, you can download from Audioslave's official site, but I haven't given it a good listening. |
I like the first single and plan on buying the album around release day. Their first album was excellent for the most part.
|
Buying it,heard most of there new album live a few weeks ago(in Detroit),sound's really good even though im not liking there 2nd single, but most if it sound's really good.
|
updated the first post with the tracklisting.
|
I'll definitely pick this up....love the first single.
|
Definitely getting this as well. 1st albums is one of my alltime faves and I love Be Yourself.
Haven't heard the second single yet. |
I will be picking this up. I love their first album. If this album is only half as good as the first I would be happy. Their first release has to be one of the best albums I have ever heard.
|
I'll definitely be picking this up, love the single "Be Yourself". Audioslave is on the only band I have paid to get scalped tickets for, twice, actually--and no regrets. I caught them live a few weeks ago at the Electric Factory and it was amazing. They played a great mix of new songs, the debut album, some Rage songs ("Sleep Now In the Fire"; "Killing In The Name of"; "Bulls on Parade") and some some Soundgarden songs (an acoustic version of "Black Hole Sun"; "Outshined"; and "Spoonman". Chris Cornell actually did vocals for Sleep Now In the Fire and Killing In The Name of and it was actually pretty damn cool.

BTW is this really coming out on 5/25? That's a wednesday.

Ok, I've listened to the entire album a few times and my favorite song is definitely Doesn't Remind Me.
|
Be Yourself and The Curse are my favs. A solid album, but doesn't quite reach the heights of the first.

I've given it a few spins, but it's not that good. It's middle of the road stuff, although admittedly, I'm not a huge fan...it won't get much more play from me. The new SOAD CD is taking up my CD players time.

Picked this up today. Got through the first 5 songs in my drive to work and though they were all great.
If the rest of the album is that good, I'll be very impressed. |
I agree with much of what has been said thus far. In comparison to the first album I think it is more consistent and solid. Part of this can probably be attributed to the band actually touring and playing live together. On the other hand, the new album has less flashes of brilliance compared to the first album.
Overall its a great album, and worth the 12 bucks you'll toss on it. |
I'd agree, definitely more consistent, and I like every song on it. On the first album I didn't really care for Gasoline or Set it Off at all, they sounded like B-sides.
But I don't really hold that against it when compating the two albums since the first had 14 songs and the second 12, so equal number of good songs on each. I'll have to listen to Out of Exile more to say which is better, but at any rate they are both fantastic albums and the repeat effort has moved them up to 2nd on my favorite bands list. A few more albums like this and they could take the top spot from Pearl Jam. :D |
I'm kinda with the camp that thinks the first album was better, but it might be because this is/was the cd I was looking forward to the most this year (even over the Foo Fighters).
But I'm really liking Yesterday to Tomorrow, even though the lyrics aren't spectacular. |
Heaven's Dead is a great song also, untill the radio get's a hold of it that is.
I like every song on the new one but still think the first album is a tad better,Tom Morellow(spelled right?)kick's so much ass on this new one it dont really matter. Now bring on Tool. |

I still can't say which I like better yet. May just cop out and end up calling it a tie. :D |
"Be Yourself" is the only bad song on the album to me. I really dig:
Doesn't Remind Me (just a kick ass song with smoking guitar at the end) Dandelion Out of Exile If you don't listen to all the songs completely, you'll miss out on some amazing music toward the end. Overall, a tighter album than the first and more soulful. Not that it doesn't rock because that is certainly there. Just a solid rock album to me. |
I definitely want to pick this up this week. First cd is superb.
|
Tom plays some pretty sick guitar on this album. Love it when he busts out a real solo instead of just those silly noises he does. #1 Zero is my favorite so far.
