Boy, it's lonely out here (in Moby support ville)
I'm amazed at the bad reviews that Moby's 'Hotel' is getting. It doesn't push in any bold, new direction - but for what it is, it's a beautiful pop record.
I've been a fan since '91, the first album - so I didn't just jump in when 'Play' hit or anything - and I just can't understand the hate. Weird.
Anyone else enjoying this disc? What do other fans that might be on here think?

believe me i was a big advocate of moby....but you can't deny his repetition in his music and even his live shows now, and it didn't used to be like that.
you know he says he has like 100+ songs written for an album...that's the problem right there...his songs all sound like demos now, they sound like apartment recordings, like they were laid down for a first time and never added to. He has creative talent, I just don't see why he doesn't use it anymore.

For what it's worth, I'm digging the new album even though I wish he had let Laura Dawn sing lead on a few more tracks. I always liked 'Extreme Ways' off of 18 but Moby lead vox are an acquired taste.

Just wasn't what I was looking for after the debut album. Although the Move single released at the same time and rocked. Needless to say, I was downright giddy when I first heard Everything Is Wrong!
