Forever young?
For the last couple weeks I have been trying to remember the name of the group or singer of the song "forever young" It's not Rod Steward...This song was the theme song of my senior prom (1986) Where can I listen a clip of it? Those were good all days when I used to listen alot of modern rock-new waves music yes...long long long time ago :) I know!!! Can anyone recall the name? Thanks.

Bob Dylan?
How about Alphaville? edit: beaten by a nose, unless of course you were thinking of Bob Dylan. ;) |
maybe--I'll check both thanks again.

Joan Baez also does a great version that was featured in a few Wonder Years episodes. Neil Young also does a great live version.
|
Definitely Alphaville! You can listen to a clip at allmusic.com or amazon.

It was in Napolean Dynamite.

The past year or two we've seen a lot of very old threads bumped for no good reason across the forum.

Re: Forever young?
There are only two good versions of Forever Young and they are both on Bob Dylan's Planet Waves album.

Did you enjoy the video? I have never been in a studio, and found it fascinating to see how much influence the producers have on a song.
If you dive into the Beatles, you realize they don't sound like they do without huge contributions from producer George Martin. And once you hear several albums from a producer even across different bands you realize most impart a signature sound. I for one have never liked much anything produced by Brian Eno for instance while I have enjoyed Rick Rubin's credited productions across different genres. So picking a producer is obviously crucial for many bands. |
