...the songs aren't exactly all that difficult to find.
Finally, I now have a better version of EM! (yes, I just had to use that lame pun again)

Found some cool cover art here.

Noticed that it references "alternate versions" of two of the tracks. Anyone know about those?

Jason,
Better Version of Me was leaked out on the net about 6 months ago (or longer) and it was referred to as "rough mix #4" (or something like that).
It's definitely different - and I actually prefer that version a little more myself.
I keep both versions on my iPod.
(e-mail me if you want to hear it)
Haven't heard the other version of "Not About Love".

Wow. Outside of her radio hits a few years back, I've never actually listened to Fiona Apple. I liked Criminal, Fast As You and the rest, but I never felt compelled to actually pick up a CD and hear the rest.
So why seek these out? Boredom and high speed internet.
But damn am I glad I clicked on this thread. I loved every song upon my first listening and absolutely fell in love with a handful.
But then, I have no real frame of reference, each of these songs may be crap compared to her previous works (which I will be buying now...legally).

Now that I have the CD quality links, chalk me up as somebody who won't bother to buy the album when it comes out. Fuck Sony.
Fiona Apple should set up a paypal link on her website. I'd gladly send a few dollars her way for the leaked tracks. Or, better yet, make a donation to her favorite charity.

I just don't understand the logic in not even releasing the album. I mean, if you think it's not worth advertising, then just release it w/o putting any money into advertising...
There must be some clauses in her contract that we don't know about, like if she releases an album Sony must do so much advertising for it.

Id glady paypal 20 bucks straight to Fiona as just a big fuck you to sony as well. I own both her albums and had looked forward to this one. Oh well just most BS from record companies. Cmon people this crap happens ALL the time, forced to change tracks, reedit this or that, songs to long, etc etc. I've heard it all before, which is why most of the artist I listen to are on their own, or have at least come out against the record industry....Prince, Aimee Mann, Fiona, the list could go on forever..record companies are evil and EVERYONE now knows it.
I seriously wish pirating was hurting their sales. Then maybe they'd pull their heads of out their collective asses.
