U2's next single and video?

City of Blinding Lights should be their next single.

I think it is the best song on the album.

Miracle Drug and Crumbs on the Table would not be bad either.

is it possible for their latest album to be nominated for a grammy at the 2006 show?

the current one is "all because of you". and since the album wasn't elligible this year, theres a big chance that it will be nominated. also, if singles are released next year, it is possible for 2007 nods as well. (same thing happened to them for the 99 album.

The next pick should either be "City of Blinding Lights" or "Love and Peace or Else"; any other choices would be the wrong ones. However, even with "All Because of You"'s chart placement slipping, there is no indication from the U2 camp as to the next single release; I'm inclined to think they're holding off until the Vertigo tour launches.

The next official U.S. single (3rd single) is Sometime You Can't Make It On Your Own. They released this at the same time as ABOY in the rest of the world, and are now releasing it here. As far as a 4th single, I would love COBL, or OOTS.

Chrisedge, where do you get your info regarding SYCMIOYO? If accurate, does this mean the UK's next single is "All Because of You"?

Filmmaker 03-08-05 08:09 AM

Well, I saw the video for SYCMIOYO this morning on VH1 so Chrisedge is on the ball. I adore this song, but I would prefer a different single because radio is not suffering in terms of decent slow songs; hell, even Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" was a pleasant listen and I'd just as soon admit having a crush on Richard Simmons as give Aguilera and her ilk any kudos*. What radio is dying for is some truly inventive, compelling, powerful and meaningful rock-and-roll. In this vein, "Love and Peace or Else" and/or "City of Blinding Lights" would fit the bill to perfection...oh, and can you imagine the remixes? Paul Oakenfold ripping into "City" or Jacknife Lee getting ahold of "...or Else"? Divinty!

* = Just to clarify for quick readers--I do NOT have a crush on Richard Simmons, nor any other male; this example was used for illustative purposes in indicating how much I despise "Gen Y" music. Everybody clear on that? Huh? You in the back, better wipe that grin off your face or I'll wipe it off for you.
