...but can anyone not agree that this song is catchy?
I'll agree. For some reason, the chorus hook was stuck in my head for a good 15 minutes at work. Not enough to make me go out of my way to listen to it again, but better than repulsion, I guess.

Not to hijack my own thread, but the conspiracy theorist in me thinks ES didn't actually kill himself but was murdered by his girlfriend. Probably irrational but his 'suicide' did have quite a few odd things surrounding it.

Speaking of which, I snagged this bit from KROQ's website here in LA this morning:

GWEN'S "HUMILIATING" AUDITION

Gwen Stefani was "humiliated" when she auditioned for the role of screen legend Jean Harlow in her debut movie "The Aviator" because she didn't get any special treatment. To top it off, Gwen only had one line. She explained, "They sent me the script and I spent 15 minutes looking for the part. I called and said, 'I don't see Jean Harlow in here' - it was on one page. It was humiliating because you get used to being a star and there are all these other girls in the same hotel. They are trying out for other parts and they know who you are. It's really awkward." The Howard Hughes biopic, starring Leonadro DiCaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese, hits theaters Dec. 24th. (Source: Ananova.com)

You know, a part of the hook in the verses reminds me of Weezer's "Hash Pipe" for some reason.

Just heard it on the radio today. Can't believe this wretchedness passes for music these days.

I've seen the video once and caught part of the song on XM, I like what I'm hearing. I think Gwen has been very expermental of late, and I don't think I've heard a bad song from her lips yet.

She's also not too bad on the eyes lately.

"Let me put it to you this way: Gwen's earned capital during her years with No Doubt, musical capital, and now she intends to spend it. She's got style."

And this is far from wretched...I could give you TONS of examples...

there's a couple ok songs on that album, but nothing great and definitely not enough to justify buying it
I hope No Doubt goes back to making good stuff and gwen ends all plans at being a solo act

Come to think of it, I'd rather listen to "Hash Pipe".
