I'm one of those who kind of drifted away after "Yield" so I'll definitely pick this up. Sorry "Crazy Mary" isn't on it, one of their best songs, but I still have the Victoria Williams tribute CD it was originally on (excellent disc) so I won't miss it too much.

Yeah. That Victoria Williams tribute disk is quite good.

Yep. Not doing much for the completists who will buy the album strictly for new artwork, etc.

Well, "Once" drops the opening ambience part and just starts right with the guitars, but other than that they sound the same to me. But I haven't had a chance to crank 'em yet.

I'll be picking it up.

I'm just a casual fan. I own Ten. I have Vs. and Vitology but nothing since.

I loved Ten. Vs was good and only had maybe 1 or 2 songs I didn't like as much as the rest.
Vitology had 5 really solid songs and 2 okay ones, the rest I didn't like at all.

Too bad about Tremor Christ not being on this greatest hits cd. IMO best song on Vitology.

anyone buy this yet today?

The packaging is very sparse, but pretty cool.

however, it looks like mine is missing something... there's a pocket in the middle of the cd case that has nothing in it. Has anyone else seen this? Is there supposed to be a booklet in it?

I got mine at Best Buy.

I picked this up today from a Best Buy and there is a booklet in the middle pocket of the case. It contains mostly pictures.

You know, they should have put "Insignificance" on the up side of this set. For one, it's an awesome song. It was a single where certain other songs on this set weren't. And, as it stands, absolutely no songs from Binaural are represented on disc 1. I think it's about time for my own Vol. 2 to get made.

I picked it up and it isn't bad but I think I will rebuy Ten again. One of the few albums I can actually listen to all the way through.

On a side note I know they came out with the acoustic album recently, but was there ever a cd version of Mtv's unplugged? I bought the acoustic but a lot of the songs I don't know and I know the unplugged show was almost all if not only songs from Ten. If not is there anything close?

uh, is anyone else annoyed at these re-mixed tracks? i mean, i wanted this set because it'd be convenient to have all the big hits in one package. not because i wanted to hear some jackass tooling with the sound of the original songs. and why are some of the words changed in "even flow"?!?

The deal with Even Flow is that the version on Rearviewmirror is the version of the song they used for the video.

They surely had to remix a lot of this stuff. If I recall correctly, most PJ songs are 4 - 4.5 minutes long, with some of the longer ones (off he goes) clocking in at over 6 minutes.

My PJ mixes, even on an 80 minute CD, generally don't have 17 songs/disc.

Ironically, though, I've generally done my mixes with an UP side and a DOWN side...though I struggle figuring out where a few of them fit.

This may be the first PJ release that I don't pick up, simply because it's all stuff I already have and there are a few songs that IMO just don't belong (last kiss for instance)

When you get a moment, and if you don't mind, I'd love to see some track listing for your mix cds.
I want to expand my listening of PJ, but after Vitology, I kind of shyed away from any further releases. I only liked 5 songs on Vitology and really didn't care for the rest of them.
Ten is a good listen through all the way. Vs only had 1 or 2 songs I didn't care for.

Thanks.

I fail to see how "Last Kiss" doesn't belong.

Last Kiss is arguably their biggest hit chartwise... it's the first song that should be on a "greatest hits"

The mix of Evenflow on this album kills the one on Ten - it's just more raw and visceral. And it's not a new mix either, it's not even a "re-mix" it was recorded live in the studio. This was the version that was on the single back in '91, because it doesn't have Eddie saying "fuck it up" before the solo.

I already have Ten and Vs and I'm not sure I want to get this. There are only five or so other songs I want off the set so I may just do the Sony Connect digital download for the rest. The remixing kind of bugs me. I want the album versions on the greatest hits sets. No live stuff, single versions or remixes.

i also prefer the version of "black" on the gh, then ten. the opening guitar riff is easier to hear.
