When Britney's greatest hits album, entitled Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, hits stores on November 9, it will include 17 tracks, including "Do Somethin'," which was previously unreleased and "(I've Just Begun) Having My Fun," which previously was available only on European releases of the In the Zone DVD. The song order for the new album will be:

I just saw part of the video of My Prerogative on Entertainment tonight, just last night. I just remember her dancing on a car.

Apparently, the full video was leaked on Launch.com but then they pulled it. I'm sure somebody's got a download somewhere.

I'll have to think about it. I know that I've seen 'em - mostly from browsing allmusic for hours on end.

Now I'm no Spears follower, but doesn't that track list include EVERY single she's ever released? If so, this isn't really a "Greatest" Hits package, now is it? You can't have greater without there being some lesser. Now, if she had called it "Britney Spears: The Singles", that would have been accurate.

The Gin Blossoms have had 2 greatest hits CDs after only 2 albums: New Miserable Experience in 1992, Congratulations I'm Sorry in 1996, Greatest Hits in 1999, and 20th Century Masters collection in 2003.

Well... the singles are generally the ones that end up "popular" and get radio play. I think its appropriate.

*ahem*

I guess she's cashing in while the cashin' in is good, seeing that her 15 minutes are almost up and she's eager to retire in white trash hell with the new hubby.

Back Street Boys come to mind. It's a sure sign the career is over.

Gin Blossoms! That's one of the ones that I remember seeing (although I didn't realize that they had two greatest hits CDs).

You'll notice that this is "The Hits - Chapter One." The title promises that this is the first of at least one more volume in the future.

I don't think that's witty so much as it is entirely true.

A cd including all of her singles =/= a cd comprised only of singles. So the title is appropriate. And you guys do realize that her "15 mins" has lasted half a decade, right?

I was going to post something similar. People have been saying her "15 minutes" are going to be up any minute now since about the summer of 1999 and its starting to get very annoying. I think she's starting to echo Madonna's early career, where people said the exact same thing every time she brought out a new cd.

She did leave off "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" from the new hits collection, but that song was awful anyway. I was hoping to see "Born to Make You Happy," but it was only a European single.

Comparing that list to her album tracklistings, I see at least two songs from her first two albums ("From the Bottom of my Broken Heart" and "Don't Let Me Be the Last To Know") that were singles that don't appear here. Both received a lot of radio play and had videos on MTV, and I actually think the latter is one of her better songs.

And no, I don't know why I know this.

Britney will never echo Madonna fame imo. At least Madonna was original, whereas Spears has bitten off just about everything Madonna has done. Even down to the "slutty years", which seems to be where Britney is right now and is what is seeming to keep her alive.

Achieving Madonna's fame has nothing to do with originality, really (and NitroJMS doesn't suggest it does), so yr point is lost.
