The first 3 CDs I bought were in the Fall of 1989...
Vanilla Ice - To The Extreme
Mellow Man Ace - Escape from Havana
The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Pretty Woman*
* I still have this one... the other two are long gone.

The Cure - Integration, which was just a packaging of four Disintegration CD singles: "Pictures of You," "Lovesong," "Lullaby," and "Fascination Street." Plus, it came with a poster of the band. I didn't have a player and had to listen to them on my brother's.

My 1st:
RUSH: POWER WINDOWS.
I traded the LP for the CD when I got my first player.
BTW, the 1st cd I ever heard and the one that convinced me cd's kicked ass was METALLICA: RIDE THE LIGHTNING.

"Freedom Rock", off of TV, back in '86 or '87.
"Is that Freedom Rock man? Yeah! Well, turn it up!"
I picked it up a few weeks before I actually bought a CD player.

Got a CD player as a high school graduation present in 1991. I think I also bought Ice-T's "Original Gangsta", Suicidal Tendencies "Lights...Cameras.... Revolution" and Metallica's "Metallica" shortly there after.

I got a cd player in March of 1990. For some reason, instead of picking a cd by an artist I already liked(I had an extensive cassette collection) I picked up a Roger Guinn(McGuinn, whatever) cd that was on an end cap. I still don't know why I did that.

The first CD I bought was Iron Maiden: Live After Death. My mother brought me and my sister down to Caldor's and we bought a CD Player and each of us got to buy one CD. It must have been 1986 or 87... whenever Live After Death came out on CD, I remember it was a new release at the time.

My first CD was J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame.
I was looking for a CD to buy with my dad and he said something like if you're going to get a CD why don't you get some good like Freeze Frame. He had the album and we listened to it over the house stereo system while we worked around home. I thought he had a good point so I told him if he could find it I'd buy it.
He did....so I did.

<html> I won a Morrissey CD in 93 or 94 and sold it because I had no player. Same with Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting (which I regretted for a long long time afterwards)...
In 1995, I won 97 cd's on the radio, so I pretty much had to get a player. I sold most of the freebies to cover the player, but I got Quo (self-titled) and Painted Desert Serenade by Joshua Kadison.
First cassette I remember buying was the Karate Kid soundtrack.
LP, I remember being really hyped about buying this
Don't laugh. Much. I was barely six.

I think my first CD was some Ren & Stimpy album, which was awful, but I was only 10, so cut me some slack!
My first REAL CD was probably Aerosmith's "Get A Grip."
