Have you ever been surprised by the amount of profanity on an album/song?

to a point where you buy an album for the kids that has no sticker, but has plenty of language, and or sexual content, or where the edited version does a good job of editing.
for me
beastie boys "check it out" i knew the album has a sticker, but i was kind of surprised by the amount of language. the line "all the klingons in your grandma's house" became "all the klingon's in the mother ****in house" and so on.
disturbed "down with the sickness" you know that part where there is that long profanity ladden rant against the singer's mother, well thats not in the radio version (obviously) but i was a bit surprised when i heard that in the dawn of the dead credits

Suprised by amount of F bombs in Incubus' Make Yourself considering it didnt have a sticker (I thought it might have been stickerless because I bought it in Canada but their new one has a couple in there too. )

buy adam sandlers "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME"

except for the title, its pretty darn clean, though it does have the sticker on it for brief violent content. put on ODE TO MY CAR, a cute song about a car. also check out the skit THE GOAT. your kid will love it. kids love goats

Not really suprised. It offends many adults so the kids buy it to stick it to 'the man' and so some artists play up to it for controversy and free publicity and hence bigger sales and more $$. My little nephews always seem to gravitate to the latest artist 'mother ****in''' their way the top of the charts with their bitchin' ho's along for the ride until the next artist next week who is even more offensive with more girls with bigger tits. They love it, but they get bored with it quickly and so look for the next dude singing/rapping stuff that seems to upset the mainstream. It's just that each artist who relies on shock has to find something more 'out there'.

The same can be said of the shock tactics of Marilyn Manson and Alice Cooper etc over the years...it's all cleverly marketed theatrics. I am not saying the music is crap or otherwise but there's no such thing as bad publicity.

sorry to bump a 4 year thread, but. A while ago i bought Exile on Mainstreet (the stones album) but never really had the urge to listen to it till last night. Lets just say i was very surprised (and did several double takes, and rewinds to make sure i heard what i thought i heard) the line in the song "Casino Boogie" "kissing **** in cannes".
Only other stuff is the swearing on metal albums, but then someone told me that since alot of it is from indie labels, they don't have to send them to the pmrc if they don't want to.
