is it possible to transfer music from.....
 

I have a sony minidisc player and I always wonder if I can transfer music from cassette tape to the sony minidisc since you can record from difference sources with it? if so what do I need to do? do I need to buy a cable?--second question is after transfering the music to the minidisc--can I upload it to my pc so I could burn it onto a cd or download it to a rio mp3 player? Im just curious if can be done.

yes you can transfer it quite easily, but it will be an analog transfer. To do it is very simple. plug the casette output into the MD input, equilize the Db levels, then record.

The second question is more difficult, and is a hot issue about minidisks. They have built in copyright protection that prevents making a digital copy of a digital copy. This means that if you make a digital copy from your cd to you md, you can only do an analog copy to your pc from your md. There may be ways to circuvent this though.
