Most influential songs?

In the movie forum, there's a thread saying "which movies are influential - i.e. they changed our society?"

Well, how about music?

I just listened to the 1973 "Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the old oak tree". It was the #1 song of 1973 on billboard.

BUT, it really changed society, best I can tell (unless it stole the ribbon concept from something else). We now use color ribbons for everything!!!

What other songs have been influential on our society?

That's Alright Mama, as performed by Elvis Presley. May not have kicked off rock 'n' roll per se, but many agree it was a milestone.
