Most influential songs?
In the movie forum, there's a thread saying "which movies are influential - i.e. they changed our society?"
Well, how about music? I just listened to the 1973 "Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the old oak tree". It was the #1 song of 1973 on billboard. BUT, it really changed society, best I can tell (unless it stole the ribbon concept from something else). We now use color ribbons for everything!!! What other songs have been influential on our society? |
That's Alright Mama, as performed by Elvis Presley. May not have kicked off rock 'n' roll per se, but many agree it was a milestone.
