How would you like your Beatles remasters served?
No news here on when or if they're happening, but if we were to get remastered albums by The Beatles, what would your ideal packaging be?
The assumption is that the remasters are the truest representation of the original recordings, and are the UK albums. This simply is how you'd like them spiced up. Also, I didn't put this as an option, but would any of you be interested in additionally buying the US versions of Beatles albums? |
My ideal reissue/remasters:
-Restored LP packaging, digipacks or the like -SACD Hybrids (ie Dylan, Stones) -UK Albums I could live without bonus tracks, discs, dvds, etc. Reissue the Past Masters, Rarities, EPs, etc. and we can get it all as it was originally released. |
There's pretty decent EPs and Singles box sets out already, so I voted:
2-disc hybrid SACD sets mastered by Steve Hoffman, with one disc mono and one disc stereo up to the White Album, and stereo only afterwards. |
On vinyl from analog masters.

Honestly I don't care, so long as the newly remastered discs come in a PLASTIC STANDARD SIZE JEWEL CASE and not some cheap oversized cardboard slipcase.

I have all of their cds, but must admit I don't play them that often so I probably wouldn't buy them if they were just remastered. With 5000 plus cds, there are hundreds I've never played. Sad, but true. |
