AC/DC Experts - a ? for you

I just joined CH, where almost my entire intro order consisted of the AC/DC Remasters. They sound phenomenal, btw.

Now here's my question - do any recording exist with BON SCOTT singing Back in Black tunes? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I had heard that Bon Scott wrote almost the entire lyrics to Back in Black, but died before they were recorded. I'd love to hear him sing a few of the them.

If they do exist, how would one go about hearing them?

NO. You heard wrong.

There are no known recordings of Bon Scott singing Back In Black (or any song with similar lyrics).

A couple points might help for clarification:

1. There is and has been a song on the net for a while that people claim to be Bon singing Back in Black. This is nothing but a hoax.

2. While it is rumored that Bon may have wrote the lyrics for Back in Black (and other songs on the BIB album) nothing has ever been confirmed.

I think a few of the songs on Back In Black were written by Bon, however the members of AC/DC say otherwise, I just find it odd that the Bon writing style was all over that album, then afterwards it vanished completely.

</small>The band members have all said that there are no recordings of Bon Scott doing the songs that were released on the Back in Black album.

It has been suggested that some of the music may already have been rough recorded and that he may have played the drums while the Youngs were trying out some of the tunes/riffs <i>sans</i> lyrics.

What I have read elsewhere is that Scott's lyrical ideas for the album that would have been Back in Black were shelved after his death as it was felt that it would be inappropriate for anyone else to sing them.

And from the <A HREF="http://www.acdc-faq.fsnet.co.uk/three/bib.html" target="_blank">faq</a>:

18. Is there a version of 'Back In Black' with Bon on vocals?

[Info taken from 'Shock To The System' by Mark Putterford]

No.

Bon had several lyrical ideas for the album, but those were
abandoned by the band in favor of new lyrics by Brian, Mal and Angus.

Former AC/DC manager Ian Jeffrey claims to still have a folder that
contains lyrics of 15 songs written for 'Back In Black' by Bon.
The BiB mp3 that some have mistakenly attributed to Scott is most likely Joe Lynn Turner on the "<A HREF="http://www.cd-reviewers.com/reviews_465938_B0000067YB" target="_blank">Thunderbolt</a>" tribute CD.

Thanks to everyone but nodeerforamonth for all the info (especially Benedict). These albums sound great. I may go back and get the 5 I didn't pickup as my required buys.

Buford, yes, CH does have them all :)
