Linkin Park - Yay or nay?

My friend is the biggest Linkin Park fan, so I'm always being forced, whether I like it or not, to listen to their stuff. Many people don't like them for one reason or another.

Your thoughts?

I voted Nay because to me all their stuff sounds alike with the exception of maybe 2-3 songs.

Linkin Park is a pathetic excuse for a band. I could list over a dozen reasons why they simply flat-out suck as a band but by now, in the year 2004, it just isn't worth my time.

I really like how the lead vocalist Chester sound but other than that not much else. Dont like the rapping or hip hop elements as much and as Saxofonix said not enough melody. I voted used to like them.

I don't mind them at all, but I do hope they shake it up a little, because it's true that a lot of their songs are starting to sound the same.

I like them but im getting a bit tired of them as of late. I really enjoy thier first album and thier second is better i think but its true that all thier stuff sounds the same. I mean i believe in the "If it aint broke, dont fix it" theory but all thier stuff falls flat after awhile. I hope that on thier next album they juggle things up a bit.

Yay.

They're not great, but they're much better than a lot of the rock bands to come out in the past 5 years or so.

Boring and mind numbing excuse of a band who capitalized on the widely expected hip-hop/DJ like twist to the Nu-Metal genre. An obvious nay IMO. This will be one of a number of bands that will be laughed at when one mentions them or finds it in someone's music collection years from now after this present day genre is dead and buried.

Yay. I already have my tickets for their summer concert. This board tends to dislike them, but, they're one of my favs.

I loved (and still do) Hybrid Theory, also RE-Animation was quite awsome, IMO.
Didn't like Meteora that much compared to the first album.

I'm still curious what they'll do next (So I'm not quite sure what to vote).

Whether you like them or not, you have to admit that there's something wrong when a rap-metal-"nu metal"-whatever band is played on KIIS-FM (pop music station in Southern California) and Radio Disney AM (no I'm not kidding).

I guess I started this thread and never said what I voted.

Yay.

I dig them, I bought Hybrid Theory blind and loved it, then after absorbing Meteora, I noticed there's just something about it, good stuff.
