Help Me Make The Ultimate Classic Rock Ipod List
I am trying to make a really good classic rock playlist for my IPod. Because my parents have horrible taste in music and I am only 24, I have tried to go back and pick up a lot of good older albums, but have missed a lot of material.
Now I'm trying to put together a nice playlist for my IPod so I don't have to listen to all the commercials on my local "Classic Rock" station. Your suggestions will be much appreciated. Here's what I'm starting with: AC/DC: Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me... Beatles: Don't Let Me Down GNR: Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child... Hendrix: Purple Haze, Fire, Foxy Lady, Watchtower Zeppelin: Over the Hills..., Rock & Roll, Going to Cali, When The Levee Breaks, Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Immigrant Song, Kashmir Tom Petty: Wildflowers, You Don't Know How it Feels The Who: Baba, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again U2: Where The Streets Have No Name, Still Haven't Found..., With or Without You The Doors: Break On Through, Light My Fire |
GnR & U2 "Classic rock". LOL! Man, you are making me feel old!
Get some Bad Company & Ted Nugent in there too. Foreigner, Styx, Journey. Don't forget the Stones. Get "Beggar's Banquet" & "Exile". |
I was thinking more along the lines of what a "Classic Rock" radio station would play. My local station plays older Metallica, Guns N Roses, etc.
|
Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water, Kentucky Woman, Highway Star
Allman Bros. - Statesboro Blues, Ramblin Man, Melissa, Little Martha Derek and The Dominoes (well, Clapton basically) - Layla Cream - White Room, Sunshine of your Love Bob Seger - Turn The Page Van Morrisson - Brown-Eyed Girl Boston - More Than A Feeling, Peace of Mind And so on... |
A "classic rock" playlist would be incomplete with no Rolling Stones...how about Sympathy For The Devil and Satisfaction.

Since there are some Tom Petty songs that are only 10-15 years old on there, you might as well add "Room at the Top." It's newer but it fits right in with how the others sound. Also some Travelling Wilburys would be good.
