Eric Singer is 10X the drummer that Peter is, but when he plays with Kiss Gene doesn't let him let loose (check him out with Alice Cooper and you'll see what I mean)
He's probably trying to get him to play like Peter Criss. Sad. They really should go get Bruce, scrape off the makeup, and pick up where Carnival of Souls left off.

I'm sure Love her All I Can and All the Way will be sandwiched inbetween the same old stuff. As much as I like the classics, KISS could easily fill an entire show with great material that never gets any play.

yeah. They're trying to hide it. I had a friend who saw them a few months ago and I said "Yeah, but it's not really KISS without Ace." He was convinced Ace was there ("I saw him! He had his makeup on and everything"). Took me awhile to convince him that it was Tommy Thayer dressed up to look like Ace.

They certainly fooled the average fan (not the super internet geeks like us).

I think they should just take off the make up again if they're not having Ace & Peter in the band.

Although it is my opinion that KISS has tricked the fans and played some makeup shows "without all the members", recently KISS has been up front about Thayer being in for ACE and in the past tour Singer being under makeup for Criss.

I was 9 years old and it was the greatest circus I ever saw

Paul was his usual self, running around and throwing guitar picks at the audience. I could not understand a word out of Peter Criss' mouth "Aah kaaa pappow! Rock n' roll ama ta fow!!" hehe. The man always had a voice like a chainsaw when he was screaming.

But I'm glad it was my first rock n' roll concert.

I had this dream 2 years ago where I just woke up laughing: I was seeing KISS live and Paul was REALLY overweight and tripping on his high heels, asking people in the crowd if they loved cheeseburgers (with a pic of a cheeseburger on the big screen). Then Gene went up in the sky to sing God of Thunder and accidentally got caught in the wires and was choking to death while Paul was screaming" Does anybody love CHEESEBURGERS?"

Oh man, that was a Spinal Tap dream...

As much as most of us our burned out with the endless reunion, they still are one of the few bands left that can fill stadiums. Money drives the world (At least Gene's)

I've seen some tape obviously of the early shows, but i wonder what it must have been like. I mean the audience, the crowd, how it was vastly different then when I saw them. Again...kinda like Kiss meets the Phantom like.

I thought this was pretty interesting.

InstantLive will be offering CDs of each show on the new KISS tour. From their website:

We’ve been promising big announcements, and it doesn’t get much bigger than “The Greatest Rock ‘N’ Roll Show on Earth”!

Instant Live is teaming up with KISS to offer high quality CDs of every show on their ROCK THE NATION tour. KISS is heading out on the road with a new show, new stage, and set lists featuring rarely heard gems from the entire KISS catalog!
Instead of going the Metallica route and offering downloads, these will be CDs sent through the mail or picked up right at the show. Pretty cool.

I ran across this on the web...seems this is their set list:

KISS: Melbourne Club Show Setlist
From: KissNews.net
According to KissNews.net, KISS performed a club show at the The Palais in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday (May 15). The group's set was just under two hours long and not two and a half hours, as advertised by the promoter prior to the show.

KISS live at The Palais in Melbourne, Australia - May 15, 2004:

02. Strutter
03. C'mon And Love Me
04. Parasite
05. Love Gun
06. Christine Sixteen
07. Makin Love
08. Got To Choose
09. I Love It Loud
10. Love Her All I Can
11. She
12. All The Way
13. I Want You
14. War Machine
15. 100,000 Years
16. Hotter Than Hell
17. Shout It Out Loud
18. I Was Made For Lovin You
19. Calling Dr Love
20. The Oath (a few seconds only)

23. Detroit Rock City
24. King Of The Nightime World

If true, that is a KISS fan's wet dream.

I heard they are sub-ing in Tears Are Falling and Lick it Up in Japan right now.

cactusoly 05-29-04 11:43 AM

Iv'e beem hearing from different sources that they are really mixing up the setlist from show to show (probably to sell more of the live CDs) I really wanna hear Unholy and War Machine when I see them in July

My paper today had a picture of "Kiss" with a caption that read that Gene had caused an outrage in Australia b/c of comments he made wich were considered anti-muslim. He said that his comments were taken out of context. That was all the paper had. Anyone know what it was taking about & what Gene said? Just curious.

There was thread about this in the "OTHER" section a few weeks ago. Try a search over there.

agreed.

I was a huge fan of the Bruce/Eric Singer line up and am one of the few KISS fans that was actually disappointed that they were getting back with Peter and Ace.

POWERBOMB 05-30-04 10:27 PM

However they tricked up the band it's still a really cool show and it would never be the same w/out Gene or Paul.
