New Beastie Boys - 'To the 5 Boroughs' LP - Due 06/15/04

The new Beastie Boys LP 'To the 5 Boroughs' will be released June 15th on Capitol Records.

The first single will reportedly be the albums first track 'Ch-Check It Out'

01 Ch-Check It Out
02 Right Right Now Now
03 3 the Hard Way
04 Time to Build
05 Rhyme the Rhyme Well
06 Triple Trouble
07 Hey **** You
08 Oh Word?
09 That It's That All
10 All Life Styles
11 Shazam!
12 An Open Letter to NYC
13 Crawl Space
14 The Brouhaha
15 We Got The

After the disaster which was their anti-war song 'In A World Gone Mad' which featured some of their worst rhyming ever, is anyone looking forward to this? I have major reservations but I can't help but be excited by a new Beastie's record.

I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast. But I'm intercontinental when I eat French toast.

The other thread regarding this topic had some of the lyrics, and they were hardly laudable. I'll buy the album, and I just hope they gave the writer of the article the worst lines to sandbag listeners with the final product.

So I got a little something for your pay per view
Like Don King I've got the crazy hair do.
I just hope they can follow that line up. I just hope they do a nice sized tour, I had to drive to Chicago for the "Hello Nasty" tour, but then again with a nice size tour I'm sure they'll skip Indiana again.

lyrics from pitchforkmedia.com

"Since 911 we're still livin'/ And lovin' life we've been given/ Ain't nothing gonna take that away from us/ We're lookin' pretty and gritty 'cause in the city we trust." ["Sonic Reducer"]

"Hey, could you please pass me the peas/ And let me get a tissue if you think you're gonna sneeze." ["Rhyme the Rhyme Well"]

"We've got a president we didn't elect/ The Kyoto treaty he decided to neglect/ And still the U.S. just wants to flex." ["Time to Build"]
