injuries recieved at concerts

list em off:

aquabats show: first concert, i went to, got kicked in the penis by some girl trying to crowd surf. didn't hurt too bad, since she missed the beans.

also got hit in the arm a bit. nothing bad.

sweet and tender holigans i believe thier name was. they are a smiths cover band. saw them at an 80's dance club in hollywood. the lead singer comes out swinging a bouquet of flowers and tosses em. the flowers go everywhere, one one long stemed flower smacks me in the face. this hurt more than i thought it would!

Summer Sanitarium 1999, Texas Stadium - While standing in the pit area, i got nailed in the head by a seat cover thrown from the upper levels. I went DOWN. Later that show, those things were flying all over the place and they almost caused riots.

Spineshank, Austin Music Hall - Got completely blind-sided by a guy in the pit. Fell through the circle crowd and got my finger stepped on and sprained.

Godsmack, Alamodome - Got kicked in the face by a crowd-surfer. Bloodied my nose and fattened my lip.

I nearly threw out my back from headbanging at a Prayer Chain concert in '95. I couldn't walk very well for two days.

first ever concert, Metallica June 10, 1994

whiplash, which was fitting since they played the song and I nearly headbanged myself to the hospital

I went to Good Riddance when I was 15 (and 105 or so lbs) and was pushed into the mosh pit by some friends. I was elbowed in the teeth within 5 seconds.

Back in my high school days, I was kicked in the head a lot by crowd surfers. Otherwise, this drunk gal nearly friction-burned my arm off trying to dance during Broken Social Scene.

Nintendo Fusion Tour in Pittsburgh last summer during the Cold set, I got kicked in the face by a crowd surfer. My glasses popped off, and I couldn't see shit for the rest of the concert. A buddy found my glasses (bendable frames still in tact) after everyone left. The lenses were scratched to shit, but after a quick trip to Pearl Vision and a call to my eye doctor back home to fax the prescription, I was set.

Many other minor cuts and bruises at other concerts.

Probably not exactly what you had in mind, but I know I damaged my hearing a bit at an Everclear concert back in '98 or so. I've been wearing earplugs to shows ever since....

D.R.I. - Thrassh Zone Tour

fell down in the HUGE vortex pit at First Avenue in Minneapolis 1989. i was picked up a big skinhead (anti-racial), he asked if i was OK, i said yes, back in i went.

this was back when people looked out for each other in pits - i think green day ruined that when they brought slamming/moshing to the masses and people, who did not know etiquette, starting using the pit as an excuse to hurt people.

some kid who was kneeling down for some reason in front at a melt banana show jumped to his feet, cracking me right in the chin and splitting it open. he turned around like he was pissed off, but when he saw the blood all over my chin said he was sorry.

punched, kicked, elbowed numerous times in and on the edge of the pit.

hit with headstock of a guitar and pushed into a drum kit multiple times at epic house show. best show ever, man.

edited to reflect the number of times my glasses have been destroyed at shows. putting them in your pocket does not help. should invest in sports goggles.

I agree I was surprised how well the guys at the Rancid concert I attended a number years back made sure some of us (like myself) in the mosh pit were okay.
