White Stripes question?!
A while ago when they were about to or first released their Elephant album, The White Stripes performed on Late Night with Conan O' Brien for like a week straight every night. Well during that week run, they performed this song which i dont know the title, nor any lyrics, all i know is that it was about a girl named "Jolene (Joline, sp?)
Now i figured thats the name of the song so i searched it and i get nothing, does anyone know whats the title of the song and on what album it appears on? I only have the Elephant CD and its obviously not there. I plan to collect thier CD's and whatever album that song is on is definetly the next one im getting. |
According to their official site, "Jolene" is listed as a single and it was released only on vinyl.

Ah sh*t! What luck, thats a great song!

Jolene is actually a cover song they do. I think Dolly Parton is the original artist. But I agree, I loved their version of it they did on Conan.

well if you really want that song, if you SEEK you will find....:)
|
"Jolene" was a single by Dolly Parton, from 1973. I bought the single when it came out... :)
The White Stripes play it at every show, from what I can tell. They played it when I saw them, and every time any of my friends have seen them. |

You can download a different live version of Jolene from their site (along with many other songs and a video of last Sunday's Grammy performance): http://www.whitestripes.net/downloads.php

Is there a way to save stuff you download there or am I just dense?
|
Right clink on the link for a specific song and hit "Save Link Target As" and you should be able to save it with no problems.

anyone know if they have any intent of touring this spring or summer, and what type of venus do they normally hit (little clubs/small arenas, or the big 20,000 peoplle arenas.
|
Great song, I remember the Trisha Yearwood version in live concerts.
