Sustitute "Many Rivers to Cross" for "The Harder They Fall" and add "Get Up, Stand Up", and that list pretty much nails it.

I couldn't decide between the Wailers version or the Tosh version of "Get Up, Stand Up", so I just left it out!

I know this is a ridiculous request but does anyone know this reggae song that goes, "You can't blame it on the youth........you can't foool de youth!"

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Talkin' Blues - You Can't Blame the Youth
i'm not sure if Peter Tosh recorded it too.

Oh, being nit-picky here: sorry, hadda do it
"54-46," not "24-46" was the number. ;)
It's "The Harder They Come," not "Fall". i agree w/ Fielding, J. Cliff's "Many Rivers To Cross" is simply amazing.

Redemption Songs

All great choices, but I have a personal preference for Bob Marley's "Iron Lion Zion".

"Bufallo Soldier"

Voted for "No Woman No Cry", but my true favorite is probably "Police and Thieves" by The Clash.

What about "I Shot the Sheriff..but I did not shoot the deputy!"?

My vote is for No Woman, No Cry :-)

Very nice.

No, I don't think I've heard that, but I have the box set and most of the hits on Legend are in longer or remixed form. I'll see if the box is the version you speak of.

I just bought a Black Uhuru collection so I'm waiting to see if any of these become favorite songs. I had only owned "Anthem" and "Brutal" so I'm finally getting to hear what Junior Reid was all about.

Then you might want to check out the original version by Junior Murvin and Scratch Perry. Mr. Strummer didn't veer too far way form the source material with his cover version.

It's readily available in the "Tougher Than Tough" various-artist reggae boxed set that Island put out a few years ago. And if you're any kind of raggae fan, you should probably own it regardless.

By the way, RaMMar, I did catch the mistake on the Cliff tune. I just didn't feel like pointing it out. I really hate looking nit-picky.;)
