good dance song recommendations?

wondering if anyone can recommend any relatively new dance songs; in the same vein of stuff by Jocyln Enriquez, Corona (remember "rhythm of the night"?) Amber, Faithless? nothing too electronica or tribal with repetetive beats, but something with a great groove and great vocals...

any ideas? :)

I'm stuck in 80's and 90's. Hold on a second. Actually, I'm just stuck. I'm too lazy to listing to the current stuff these days. I'm getting old.

Please tell me how any of these names you mentioned ARE NOT electronica and DONT have repetitive beats... they all do.

Dont listen to that crap. Go pick up some Miss Kitten if you want some female singing good dance music.

ahh nevermind, anyone looking for crap 90s dance tracks doesnt deserve to find the good stuff.
The good stuff is out there, get past the garbage.

You could try Ann Lee, but she's only released 1 album to date and that was ages ago... like 1999. 2 Times, Voices, Smooth & Sweet... the whole `Dreams' album is good!

Wow, nice threadcrap, andy.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I think you should check out the group Circ. They have an excellent song called "Destroy She Said", which reached #1 on the Billboard Breakout Dance Sales chart in August.

Their website is http://www.circ.nu

And they have a link to download the music video: http://www.perlstrax.com/circ_video/...said_video.mpg

Making quite an entrance, eh Andy?

I'm not really sure if this is what you're looking for since I'm not familiar w/ any of the listed artists, but you may like Sophie Ellis Bextor's song "Murder on the Dance Floor." I think it was recorded in 2k1.

And I can't recommend Basement Jaxx's latest, Kish Kash, enough. If you really do want all the qualites you listed above, buy this album. Immediately.

Goldenboy feat. Miss Kittin - Rippin Kittin (Glove Tension Club Remix)

good stuff

Anyone else like the Minogues?

Dannii's actually coming out with alright stuff lately.
(Though nothing will EVER eclipse "This is it", dammit!)

andybrew, thank you so very much for your enlightening input to this discussion.

slateef 12-10-03 11:29 PM

muggins, i checked out circ...not exactly my cup of tea, they sound too much like aqua (you know, of barbie girl fame)...

but thanks for the suggestion!

muggins 12-10-03 11:39 PM

Hey, no problem. It seems to be one of those groups that people either really like, or don't really much care for.

RoQuEr 12-14-03 02:50 PM

bumping this thread cause I'm bored.

This song is set to be the breakout hit of 2004 (follow link to watch video) While I really like the song, and I think its great that G & D are getting recognition, this video blows. Plus, I have doubts as to whether it will even get airplay in the US since its ovbiously about rolling, but time will tell.
