A few more:
Coldplay - The Scientist --> A really, really beautiful breakup song. Intelligent and moving.
Radiohead - Airbag --> The opening song off of OK Computer. Kind of astonishing and utterly kinetic.
Radiohead - True Love Waits --> It's already been mentioned but there wasn't an info line. FYI, the only official version to date is off of their I Might Be Wrong live album and it's amazing. A desperately romantic song.
Steely Dan - Pixeleen --> A very catchy song off their most recent album. Up tempo and with some very funny lyrics.
Steely Dan - Black Cow --> I think this one is off of Aja. Very nearly a perfect song, if there is such a thing. Sublime.
Pixies - Gigantic --> From the Surfer Rosa songlist and maybe the Pixies best single song, this one was sung by bassist (and future Breeders founder) Kim Deal.
Pixies - I Bleed --> A very strange song that shouldn't work but just does. Very good, and especially so is the propulsive, drum-fueled ending. From Dolittle.
David Bowie - Golden Years --> A long, hypnotically attractive song. Strong, mostly unaffected singing by Bowie.
Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street --> I don't know who Bob was pissed at when he wrote this but damn, he got her(?) back to the Nth degree. Brilliantly bitter and caustic. The final line is all-time withering.
Breeders - Invisible Man --> From their debut work Last Splash, very experimental but very neat too. I *love* Kim Deal's voice.
Elvis Costello - Allison --> Very heartfelt lyrics and great singing by Elvis. A great song.
