Anyone know some awesome RAP instrumentals?

I know this sounds like an odd question, but I remmebr when I was younger I use to love rap. I hate it now (except the old school stuff I grew up on) but I was thinking off all the cool instruments that use to be out there. Just a funky jam with a deep bass line and some effects going on. I was wondering if there was any old school rap fans here that could reccomend me some songs to look for because I still like to kick back and hear them. Though I can remeber a few great ones, I dont recall the name of them or anything. I just remember:

DJ Laz - Moments In Bass

I hear it all the time highly reccomend some of you rap lovers go and seek this songs out. But I made this thread so we can share some or inform eachother of some good songs like the one I mention. I recall one cool one that Korn later ripped off the bass line too, than another song that just had one line (I think it said "Its the Formula"), but like I said I dont recall any artists.

Anyone know some awesome RAP instrumentals?

If you can still find it i would recommend 'Heavy Rhyme Experience' an album from the early 90's featuring LIVE music played by British Jazz/funk band 'The Brand New Heavies' with basically some of rap/hip-hop's greatest exponents (Gang Starr,Kool G Rap etc..) rhyming over the top a la 'old school' style.

Wouldn't instrumental imply the use of instruments? Besides a drum machine, what instrument is used in rap?

How is that a threadcrap?

My point is, without vocals, a song cannot be a rap song. No ifs ands or buts. The style in which the lyrics are given is what defines a rap song.

The Roots while it may seem easy to classify them as rap on the surface, I would say they are more soul or r&b.
