I really like "Common People," what else might I like?
 

I heard Common People by Pulp today and I loved it.

However, I don't have any music like it, radio where I live is terrible, and I was hoping to get some suggestions here.

I plan to get the Pulp CD soon, but what other bands and songs do you think I should give a listen to if I really liked this kind of song?

Hmm Pulp are a hard one to relate to, they are ina a world of there own, and Common People is them at there most poppy.

I think maybe Dubstar. But they are very poppy.

That is a tough one. The best I can come up with would be more Brit-pop. The Wedding Present might be a decent starting point, especially George Best Plus. You should try The New Pornographers (Canadians playing the most British music you can imagine) on for size, as well. Light-hearted, saccharine-coated and swingin', for sure. Mmm, this one might be a long shot, but Supergrass is pretty good contemporary brit-pop and not too twee. I'm not the biggest fan of theirs, though - I'm sure someone else can give you a better reccomendation.

It isn't available in the US yet (that I'm aware of), but check out Black Box Recorder's latest, Passionoia. It has similarly styled tracks, i.e. pop with wry observations about British life. Albeit with a female singer.
