Not as good as Elvis 30 #1 Hits but still a pretty good set of songs.

I will probably (90% sure) get it, so I voted yes.

GuessWho 09-10-03 11:45 AM

I'm very 50/50 on this. There are only about 5 songs I'd want.

However, The Beatles need a followup to "1" that should contain any remaining songs from the Red and Blue collections

Target lists "2 Bonus Songs" in their ad as well. Anyone know what they are?

BTW When I bought 30 #1 Hits last year, Wal Mart included a cute interview disc as well. Will they have their own promotion this time?

Spiderbite 10-05-03 09:50 PM

I wonder if they will do a DVD-Audio version for this one? They did one for the #1 Hits disc.

The two songs are the remixed "Rubber Neckin'" and a newly found song called I'm a Roustabout...it was rejected for the Roustabout movie and is quite catchy!

So you think that when their ad says "2 Bonus Songs", they're referring to the same songs that are on every other copy of the album? That just sucks. I might check it out on Tues just to be sure.

I would guess YES because they are essentially 'new' songs.

NO

It's 2 ADDITIONAL songs, see bigjim's post above

Too Much Monkey Business & a live version of That's All Right Mama

I have assumed the Target advertised version is the standard one, therefore they have honed in on the two 'bonus' tracks'.
I could be wrong, but i was NOT referring to "Too Much Monkey Business" and the live "That's Alright, Mama."

Do you get it now?

At Target the Elvis CD has a sticker that says includes a 2nd CD with 2 Exclusive Target bonus tracks. Does not say what the tracks are.

DJLinus 10-07-03 01:00 PM

Hmmm...I bought my copy from Best Buy today, but I think I'd rather have the Target bonus tracks. Good thing I haven't opened my CD yet. Thanks for the info.

And the All Music review brings up a valid point: what makes tracks 29 & 30 "bonus" if this is how the original CD is issued? Is this also issued on cassette/vinyl with only 28 tracks? Just kind of a pet peeve of mine.

DJLinus 10-07-03 08:46 PM

I just opened my copy from Target and played the bonus disc. The disc lists the first track as being "Viva Las Vegas (takes 1, 2)" and running 4:12. Well, it only sounds like one take and lasts only about 1:50. Just so you know...

Decker 10-09-03 12:21 AM

OK, did anyone get this yet? I just picked up my copy from BB. It won't play in my computer. I usually copy all my discs since my car CD player tends to put linear scratches in my CDs, but I can't copy or even play this one. Is this some horrific new copy protection?

edit : Actually it plays in my CD-RW drive, but not my DVD Rom drive. It's gotta be copy-protected. That sucks, now I'll never be able to listen to it in my car without ruining it.
