What are you listening to now?

I like these threads , every so often, to see who's listening to what.

In my MP3 player

Atmosphere - Se7en's Travels. Absolutely cannot wait for the official release. This is gonna be HUGE.

Brother Ali - Shadows on the Sun . Probably my favorite "new" artist , and my 2nd favorite act on the Rhymesayers label. This CD is freaking incredible.

Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth - Same deal as before, have the official releae preordered, can't wait to have it in my hands. This CD is great.

Abstract Rude - Showtyme - Another great "underground" rap album.

CD Player

Pearl Jam - Live From State College . I bought all 3 of these from the new LIVE run. Love em all, this is my favorite. 3 discs of crazy PJ Live action.

Trapt - Trapt - Doing Linkin Parkesque music the RIGHt way.

What about you guys?

I usually keep a stack of discs in the passenger seat of my car, and rotate them out every couple of days. Today I've got:

Parliament - Tear the Roof off the Sucker Greatest Hits 1974-1980
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Jimmy Cliff/The Harder They Come Soundtrack
Annie - Original Broadway Cast Album (no, really)
Neko Case - Blacklisted (never leave home without it)

edclem 08-25-03 02:20 PM

in the car:
Arch Enemy: Anthems of Rebellion

here in the office:

Already listened to:
Symphony X: The Damnation Game
Now:
Symphony X: The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Later:
Symphony X: Twilight in Olympus, V: The New Mythology Suite, and The Odyssey.

...I think my theme for the day is pretty obvious.

The new Pigeon John CD (Is Dating Your Sister) came in the mail today and I just now listened to it straight through. Great stuff - better than his last. Not sure how many Pigeon John/LA Symphony fans there on these boards, but I can definitely recommend this one if you like him/them.

The Exister 08-25-03 03:55 PM

Mississippi Fred MacDowell - "I do not play no rock 'n roll" CD

Great stuff.

I must say that the new stuff sounds incredible. I just saw them last night on their final Lollapalooza stop, and the new songs are awesome. Danny Lohner came out to play guitar on Judith and 3/4s of Janes addiction came out to play a guitar solo and drums on Thomas.

On a side note, Maynard came out to sing with Chris during Audioslaves set with just those 2 and an acoustic guitar. Awesome.

Yeah I saw them live in Irvine....was amazing! I almost shed a tear to how awesome The Outsider sounded -wink-

Also on a sidenote there is a clip from the Lollapalooza show floating around where Janes invites Maynard to join them playing Kasmir from Led Zeppelin....wow I WISH I could have seen that!!

Ya, last night Janes invited Tom Morello up to play some and Chris also invited Perry out during his set too.

I was surprised at how much inter-band activity there was. It was nice to see them all having as much fun as the fans were and getting around and together from time to time. I wish APC had played at night though, that was my only gripe.
