Proper name for release

What is considered the proper name for a release by an artist today? It used to be record, then it was album. What is it today? CD, album, record? Is there a universally accepted name? Album still seems right to me, but very few actually produce vinyl any more, and CD just seems odd.

I use CD or album. Unless I am talking about a music store, then I call it a record store.

I usually say album...sometimes I'll throw record out there; seems more 'artsy'.

"Album" for me, too.
And I still call them "record stores" too. Oh oh, showing my age.

Album.

I'm totally with the rest of you guys. I always say something like "so-and-so is putting out a new album." And then it's "I'm gonna head down to the record store to pick it up later."

the proper word is ALBUM.

... so and so has a new ALBUM.
... It's availabe on cd, tape or Vinyl.
