Sweet, I actually have an album by Do Make Say Think ("Goodbye Enemy Landlord")...bought it back in 2000 when I was first digging through Constellation's roster. Oddly enough, I was just spinning it the other day after not having listened to it in at least five years. Where should I go next?

I like Buckethead's instrumental version of Wrathchild:

Re: Best instrumental

Surprised it took this long for Buckethead to be mentioned. I'll also add anything off Colma any number of songs from Electric Tears, Welcome to Buckethead Land, Giant Robot as well his work in Praxis with Bootsy Collins/Bill Laswell etc, etc...

If anyone is unfamiliar with him, he's one of the most prolific and diverse musicians to ever grace the planet. A complete monster on the guitar.

His discography is as impressive as any modern artist.

Re: Best instrumental

There are many many rock instrumentals (check out Surf Noir or Guitar Noir) but it is hard to beat "Beck's Bolero", especially since it includes Jeff Beck and Keith Moon (drums, of course). Moon's scream at the end is awesome.

Re: Best instrumental

How the fuck could I have forgotten "One Mint Julep"? That might even pass Agharta... except it has one sung phrase.

Re: Best instrumental

"Sts'ikel" - Hope of the States (a haunting epic of a tune - that propels you into the stratosphere of instrumental rock music - stunning)
