favorite b-side/deep cut?

a deep cut is a song that very rarely gets played on the radio, stations will use that term to get listeners to think that they have a "deep" selection of songs.
b side
"travilin riverside blues" led zeppelin
"revolution" the beatles
deep cut
"the battle of seigon" billy joel
"brain damage/eclipse" pink floyd

"deep cut"? never heard of that before..

as for "b sides"...back in the day Prince steadily released some that were just as good [if not BETTER] than the "a sides"..

Wow. I was going to post "Sea of Sin". Didn't expect to see anyone else mention this. Outside of the DM camp that is. MY Best B-side ever ;)

Can't believe I forgot about "Silver Springs" by Fleetwood Mac. The B-side of "Go Your Own Way" for a limited time and then gone until a few years ago. I think it's Steve Nicks best song. And I was always stunned it didn't make the final cut of "Rumors".

Dream Theater - You Or Me

So much better than "You Not Me"

For example, "She's Always In My Hair", which is the b-side to "Paisley Park"...

I notices a few years ago that, with artists I really like, almost always my favorite song of theirs is a b-side. A few:

"Rain" - The Beatles
"Heathen Town" - Elvis Costello
"Scholarship Is the Enemy Of Romance" - Billy Bragg
"Maharishi Dug the Scene" - Teenage Fanclub

and the aforementioned Prince song.

Pink Cadallic - B-side to Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark (1984).

Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town - B-side to Bruce Springsteen's My Hometown (1986).

Drexl 07-21-03 10:30 PM

"Pennies" and "My Blue Heaven" - Smashing Pumpkins

Buttmunker 07-22-03 08:17 AM

My favorite Deep Cut, or Album Cut, would be "Time For Change" by Motley Crue (1989). Never a single, never (to my knowledge) on the radio, but one hell of a song.
