Coldplay Video Question

I was watching a Coldplay video yesterday. I don't know the name of the song but in the video everything is moving backwards except for the lead singers singing. How do they do this? How do they have everyone going backwards except for the singing? It was a pretty cool video, I just don't get how they did it. All I know is that they had him act it all out normally and then reversed the video but how did they get the singing synced up? Did they have him sing it backwards?

I've seen a "making of" of a similar video, and that singer had to sing the song backwards. Very hard to do, but I bet if you look closely at Coldplay's video, the lips don't always synch up with the words.

the "scientist" is the video/song in question. The best song on the album.

Great video. But why the hell is he so far from the scene of the accident?

Wrong. The best song on the album is called "Amstersdam". ;)

Also, you'll notice that he's only singing in part of the video (not to downplay having to learn some of it backwards).

Yeah, alanis morisette did a similar thing in her 'One hand in my pocket' video; it's in slo-mo but her mouth moves to the song. She had to learn it all sped up and they slowed it down in post...

The coldplay one's cooler though (better song too!)
