TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS TO MAKE SPECIAL PBS 'SOUNDSTAGE' DVD
AVAILABLE FOR FANS
Order Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers' 'Soundstage' Performance On DVD
Before It Airs On PBS
Hey all you tompetty.com people. We have an exciting offer for you.
How would you like to own a special live Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
DVD while supporting PBS at the same time?
Interested? Read on . . .
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are re-launching PBS' revered "Soundstage"
series with a show the band taped for the network April 20th in Chicago
for an intimate audience of 450 fans. In fact Tom and the band played long
enough for two shows. Their set included blues, covers, some country, some
hits, some tracks deep into their catalogue and three new songs. End result?
The "Soundstage" folks requested and got two shows (one hour each). There
will be a back-to-back two-part series July 3rd and 10th airing on most
stations at 9:00 p.m. Central, and 10:00 p.m. Eastern, Rocky Mountain and
Pacific Time.
On Friday, June 27th, you can get a jump on the rest of America by ordering
TOM PETTY and the HEARTBREAKERS' entire "Soundstage" performance -- plus
bonus footage -- through PBS by calling: 1-800-237-1100. This Limited Edition
two DVD set will cost $29.95 (plus shipping and handling), will not be sold
in stores and is available only through PBS. So, if you do not watch the
show or want to order now you may order your copy ONLY by calling the above
number.
Meanwhile, remember to tune in July 3rd and 10th to catch the band's
"Soundstage" performance, airing on 300 television stations nationwide
(check local listings for PBS airtimes).

Ordered Monday. Be patient (or put on speakerphone) as it took about 5 minutes for somebody to answer (cool music, so it's not all bad). It comes out to about 34.95 with shipping. The strange part is at the end of the call I was told to expect my set in about 4 weeks. Must still be in the manufacturing stage. Oh well, should be a good concert and the money goes to a good cause.
In my local PBS magazine it tells a little more about the 2 part concert. Mainly that the entire Last DJ album is played (with an orchestra).
Thanks for the info borisdiscso!!!
