Need Help with Late 60's - early 70's Compilations
 

Anybody have recommendations for a good compilation of late 60's - early 70's music? I have been instructed by the boss to pick out a "Time Life" type set so we can play some music during a company reception. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

what type of 60's early 70's music, motown, british invasion, the birth of heavy metal, blues, surf/stoner music, what????

I think some hippie (surf/stoner) stuff as well as motown with a smattering of early heavy metal (zeppelin) and blues.

And it doesn't have to be Time Life, just a compiliation.

The Nuggets set is a great compilation of late 60's garage rock. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but it's worth a look.

I don't think you're going to find any compilation that has mostly big name bands, because the rights to all those songs would be almost impossible to get.
