I do a Canadian music show on a local volunteer radio station, and can't believe I missed this thread.
In no particular order, I'm a big fan of The Tragically Hip, Zuckerbaby, The Watchmen, Static In Stereo, Joydrop, The Weakerthans, Flashing Lights, Treble Charger, Holly McNarland, Limblifter, and Sloan, and I also like what I've heard from Hot Hot Heat and Broken Social Scene.
I know I'm missing a few. More than a few.
Anyone who's interested can check out the show online at www.hoseradio.com. I'm always open to requests and suggestions, too.

Re: Any Canadian Music Fans?
I was going to start my own thread, but this seemed like the most appropriate one to bump.
Here's a few current Canadian artists worth checking out:
Matthew Good (Band) - www.matthewgood.org New album, Vancouver, due this year
Joel Plaskett (Emergency) - just released a triple album. Sure, it's over-indulgent, but he always puts on a fantastic concert
Matt Mays - kind of like a young Tom Petty
Neko Case - Not actually Canadian, but she spent so much time up north, she's an honorary Canadian (to me).
Rush - Because they're Rush, dammit!
Matthew Barber - Latest album is Ghost Notes. Folk-rock?
Pilot Speed (formerly known as Pilate) - Similar to Coldplay, but with songs that I actually like.
Rufus Wainwright - Son of Loudon, brother of Martha. Amazing voice, if you're into it. Saw him in Seattle where he did a song without amplification.
Wintersleep - Big song lately is 'Weighty Ghost'. Good stuff.
Zuckerbaby - I heard about a year ago that they were working on a new album, but haven't heard anything since. Hope it still happens.

Re: Any Canadian Music Fans?
Rush and Barenaked Ladies are the only acts I like that I know are Canadian.
I know Bryan Adams is Canadian, but I don't like him.

I like lots of mid-late 60s Canadian groups and almost all are obscure now besides the Guess Who, ones like: Ugly Ducklings (Mick Jagger said they were his favorite Canadian group in the 60s I think), The Haunted, The Collectors, Mother Tucker's Yellow Duck, Painted Ship, The Paupers (band slotted to play at Monterey Pop Festival but didn't make it), Les Sinners, My Indole Ring, etc, etc.

Re: Any Canadian Music Fans?
I can't believe only one person on here has mentioned The Tragically Hip.
I also like I Mother Earth ('90s version with Edwin), Our Lady Peace, Neil Young, Rush, Headstones, and very early BNL. I'm sure there are tons more that I'm forgetting.
One of the benefits of living close to Canada...

Re: Any Canadian Music Fans?
Big fan of Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think, Godspeed and Arcade Fire myself.
Kid Koala is a great turntablist.
Sarah McLachlan is quite talented too.
If Neil Young and The Band count then of course they are due much respect since they are legends. I could do without the rest of the music that I've heard from Canada.
